Drinking 101

Feb 26, 2005

Alcohol and an empty stomach do not mix. Alcohol and an empty stomach do not mix. Alcohol and an empty stomach do not mix.

That said, here I am at four in the morning after attending a short office party at The Local. Embarrassment runs high, since I should have at least stuck around until the “end” of the party. As usual, my moronic instincts took hold and subsequently got the better of me. In the terminology of my friend Kurt, I needed to be “poured home” via taxi. I woke up from my haze a short time ago—you know that magic period between night out and hangover when you wake up craving water like crazy? That’s where I am right now.

I apologize to my co-workers for nearly forcing them to endure yet another scene. Clearly, I must limit my intake of car bombs when I lack a meal beforehand. However, I had a great time and likely didn’t make a fool of myself while at the party.. and that is a victory by itself.

Now it is off to clean up the array of clothing on the floor, and to make myself a pizza to fight off the inevitable, monster hangover. Ungh.
