I had every intention of working last night to catch up on my current project. However, I stopped downtown and had dinner with a friend. He suggested that I take the night off and attack the work fresh on Saturday (today).
I walked home, put my stuff away, and turned on the radio. I laid back on the bed and let my muscles go slack. It became clear that I was exhausted. Eventually, I fell asleep around 8pm and woke this morning for the sunrise. This was an incredibly wise thing to do.
Do not underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep.
